In January 2022, Starscream was lucky to be one of the first industry visitors to What Hi-Fi?’s brand new listening rooms in Winnersh Triangle, Berkshire. In a huge space occupied by all Future Publishing brands who need dedicated testing facilities, What Hi-Fi? has two testing rooms – one for TV reviews, one for all things hi-fi.

We had a tour and demo of the fully specified and acoustically treated hi-fi listening room, which has been designed to high standards. It’s certainly large enough to equip giant speakers – such as the 1.7m tall PMC Fact Fenestria speakers pictured – as well as more modest hi-fi kit such as the Cyrus i-7 XR stereo amplifier (also pictured).

From the brief demo we had, it sounds great. We’re excited to visit again and hear our clients’ new products – from turntables to speakers to amplifiers – get the full What Hi-Fi? review treatment in their new hi-fi listening room.
