Over the years, Starscream has been very involved with events at the conference/festival South by Southwest located in Austin, Texas. South by Southwest (SXSW) celebrates tech, film, and music. Many events, conferences, concerts, and launches take place at SXSW and we have been lucky enough to be involved in many of them.

In previous years, we sponsored an Amy Winehouse photography exhibition and party with DIY magazine and we took media to the British Music Embassy for live BBC Music shows after a long day of conferences about the future of music streaming and high res music.

In 2018, we were able to take Nile Rodgers (singer, songwriter and producer who co-founded the band Chic) around Austin for interviews with BBC, Pitchfork and Bloomberg to help promote the new studios being built at Abbey Road. Rodgers had recently joined as Creative Director.

Also in 2018, we joined the Beastie Boys Q/A where they talked about the music industry today and their new book. We also were able to see a keynote with Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London. He discussed how we can ensure technology is utilized so it benefits everyone.
