In November 2021, Starscream attended the What Hi-Fi? Awards 2021 at the Grand Sheraton London Park Lane. The biggest and glitziest awards night on the tech and hi-fi calendar, this year’s awards night was even more special as it was an in-person event – for many, it was the first time everyone had seen each other in nearly two years.

It was a gathering of familiar faces across the industry – it was wonderful to catch up with dozens of hi-fi and tech brands, as well as plenty of journalist guests from both mainstream and specialist media.

There were multiple awards up for grabs at the prestigious event, which was the magazine’s 39th annual Awards. Alongside the product ‘Best Buys’ for each category and price bracket, on the night was announced the ‘Product of the Year’ awards across 26 product categories, as well as five ‘Special Awards’.

Starscream clients won big as we had a front row seat, with Cambridge Audio taking the esteemed Readers’ Award (one of the Special Awards) for the Evo 75 all-in-one music system, while the CXA81 won the Product of the Year for stereo amplifiers. Klipsch won a Best Buy for the T5M Wired – the third year in a row winning the best in-ear headphones category. Additionally, Roon was well represented in the award winners on the night – 21 Roon Ready and Roon Tested products won across 11 different categories.
