PR Account Executive – Starscream Communications London
Job location:The role will be based around a mix of working at our office in Kings Cross and remote working
Hours: Full time, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £28k – £32k p/a, depending on experience
About us
We are the leading PR agency for audio brands. We promote everything from headphones to speakers, streaming services to live music systems found everywhere from Hammersmith to Hollywood.
Due to our continued expansion we are looking to recruit an Account Executive. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will help deliver consumer PR activity and mainstream media coverage for Starscream Communications clients and their products.
Management and admin:
- Support the Account Manager/s to ensure great service to all clients and good relationships with media
- As required, support the MD with day to day tasks and planning
- Use media monitoring sites to record coverage and share success through our social accounts
- Update and manage our client newsrooms via Wordpress
- Create social images and build a strong social identity for Starscream within the brand guidelines
- Update Office 365 task planner
- Create and manage roadmap for client activity, deadlines and launches
Media Relations:
- Deal with incoming calls and email enquiries from media contacts
- Use media database to identify and approach new contacts that may be interested in the brands or products promoted by Starscream
- Work with the Account Manager to pitch stories to media through email, face-to-face meetings, conferences and events when required
- Meet new media with Account Manager and attend meetings with key media when required for new launches and key stories
- Become familiar with products through testing to help deliver in-person demos in our listening room space
Client Relations:
- Deal with clients over email or phone when required for new product requests, media queries or event planning
- Attend client update calls via Teams or face-to-face with Account Manager
- Assist clients when working on behalf of Starscream at photo shoots or press days and events
Skills and experience needed:
- Organised and able to work at a fast pace
- Professional manner, dealing with clients and media
- Self-motivating, enthusiastic and able to learn fast
- Good knowledge of Microsoft programs, Teams
- Knowledge of design programs such as Adobe Spark and InDesign

Bookkeeper and Admin Assistant – Starscream Communications London
Job location: Mainly Remote Working with some face-to-face meetings and events
Due to our continued expansion, we are delighted to be hiring a Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant to join our busy team. We are currently looking for someone to join the team working approx. 15 hours per week (more hours may be required occasionally to meet financial deadlines). The hours and days of work can be flexible. As we continue to grow there is potential for more hours to become available.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
The Bookkeeper will be accountable for delivery of an accurate bookkeeping records.
Tasks including but not limited to:
- Credit control / debtor management on behalf of the Company
- Pay vendors for Starscream and Audio Media International
- Maintaining accounts, verifying, and posting transactions
- Cashflow forecasting for both businesses
- Day to day management and reconciliation of accounts
- Maintain complete filing system to support financial records and establish good processes
- Working closely with accountants to prepare VAT returns / corporation tax etc
- Management of payroll, working with external agency
- Self-assessment tax returns for directors
- Meetings – weekly with team and monthly with accountant
Admin Responsibilities:
- Ad hoc assistant work for MD providing administrative support – allowing MD to focus on decision making tasks
- Booking couriers, organising pick-ups and mail outs
- Occasional – booking travel, booking meeting rooms and event space
- Occasional liaison with our HR provider, IT support team, office management team
- From time to time – organisation of company social events, booking hospitality, organisation of Employee/Client occasion gifts
- Supporting the team in organising meetings and presentations
The ideal candidate will be:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a Bookkeeper role and be looking for a new challenge with potential for growth.
The necessary skills to complete the role effectively are:
- Highly computer literate with experience of remote working – proficient working on MS Teams, Zoom, Microsoft office etc is essential
- Possess relevant NVQ/SVQ qualifications or specialist qualifications such as AAT or equivalent
- Possess first-rate numerical skills
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero and Receipt Bank
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Professional and personable communication skills
- Be able to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines
